This spicy tartar sauce adds the perfect punch to kick any dull, ordinary tartar sauce up a notch. The smoky flavor complements any fried fish, so try this next time you have the friends over for fish and chips.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 large jalapeño
  • ¼ cup cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • ¼ cup chipotle pepper
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 quart Mayonnaise
  • Mixer
  • Knife
  1. Step 1

Dice the jalapeño. Using a knife, slice the skin off of the jalapeño. Start at the top by the stem and cut in a downward motion. Continue doing this until only the stem and seed remain.

  2. Step 2

Lay all of the skin in a row and dice into small squares.

  3. Step 3

Combine the diced jalapeño with all of the ingredients in a bowl.

  4. Step 4

Using a hand-held mixer, purée everything to the desired consistency.

  5. Step 5

    Set aside and enjoy!
