Cover a clear glass bowl with pretty butterflies and flowers for a whole new look. Easy and quick to paint.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • clear glass bowl
  • nail polish remover
  • paper towels
  • tape measure
  • chinagraph pencil
  • paintbrushes
  • glass paints
  • toothpicks
  • cotton swabs
  1. Step 1

Clean the bowl with the nail polish remover. Measure down the inside of the bowl 2 1/4" and mark with the pencil all the way around the bowl to create a border. Use the pencil to divide the top border into equal sections.

  2. Step 2

Paint a simple butterfly below the border and etch designs in the paint with the toothpick if desired. Continue painting random butterflies all over the bowl, below the border.

  3. Step 3

Paint a small circle in the middle of each of the sections above the border. Paint one petal at a time around each of the circles to create flowers, stopping after each petal to etch a line up the center of each one with a toothpick.

  4. Step 4

Fill in the area below the border, with swirls of paint between the butterflies. Leave to dry. Rub off the pencil marks using cotton swabs. Paint waves between the flowers in the top border.

  5. Step 5

    Set the paint, if necessary.
