Step 1
The Guggenheim is well worth a visit for anyone who hasn't been, but it should be noted that the exhibits on display do not change very often. A well placed visit could capture as much as half of all the art the museum shows in a given year.
-
Step 2
For those unfamiliar with the layout of the museum, it is best described as a huge spiral with a hollow center where the lobby is. Whether you make you way up or down depends on your stamina. They have elevators that can be taken to any floor if so desired.
-
Step 3
If you have a choice, go on a weekday morning to avoid larger crowds, but remember that the museum is closed on thursday. It's a real drag to get all the way there and find out it's closed. If you're on a budget, consider going friday evening when admission is free after 5:45.
-
Step 4
While purchasing a membership is not worth it for the art alone, the Guggenheim has monthly parties with DJs and free booze. If this is your thing, a membership can pay for itself in a few parties.
