Sweet omelets are sort of a cross between crepes and pancakes. They are a great option for the many followers of low carbohydrate diets. They can be used for the base of a delicious and healthy breakfast or dessert. Here is the recipe for 1 serving.

From Quick Guide: Omelet Recipes
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • olive oil
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 T. plain flour
  • 2 T. sugar
  1. Step 1

Place a medium sized frying pan on the stove on medium heat and add 2 T. olive oil to the pan to heat up while you mix the omelet together.

  2. Step 2

Crack 2 eggs into a 2 cup measuring dish or mixing bowl and whip them with a fork or wire whisk.

  3. Step 3

Add a pinch of salt, 2 T. flour and 2 T. sugar to the eggs and mix thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

Flick a drop of water into the frying pan to make sure the oil is hot. If it sizzles, it is ready.

  5. Step 5

Pour the egg mixture into the middle of the frying pan. Let it cook until it starts to get a little brown on the edges. Check to see that the underside of the omelet is light brown, then flip the omelet over.

  6. Step 6

Cook the other side until it is also light brown. The edges will likely curl up and then back down just before it is ready.

  7. Step 7

Serve the omelet hot with toppings. Some suggestions are fruit, whipped topping, nuts, syrup, ice cream and chocolate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Kids may enjoy using cookie cutters to cut shapes out of their omelets.
  • The recipe calls for plain flour, but you can experiment using self rising flour if you want a fluffy omelet.
