We all know we should exercise, but when it comes down to it, many of us lack the motivation. Here are some ways to make it easier to get in shape.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Aerobics and weight-lifting videos
  • A health club to visit
  • Good work-out shoes and clothes
  • A subliminal "Joy of Exercise" CD and CD player
  • An iPod or CD player

Step1
The night before planning a workout, listen to your subliminal or self-hypnosis CD. These mental programming CDs really do work and can make a difference in your attitude towards exercise.
Step2
If you don't currently belong to a health club, make some calls and visit a few. Being around other motivated people helps keep you motivated to work out.
Step3
When working out, be sure to wear shoes with solid support and loose-fitting clothing.
Step4
Keep weights and exercise videos easily accessible so that you can always work out, even when a trip to the gym is impractical.
Step5
Use your iPod or CD player for up-tempo background music to keep you motivated and up beat.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to make friends at your club; work-out buddies are great motivators!
  • Don't do too much too soon--this is very de-motivating in the long run.
