How to Communicate With Your Partner

Step1
Apologize when it is necessary and remember that there are no time frames on apologies. Apologies can also repair a lot of damage in relationships.
Step2
Prevent future conversational breakdowns by not leaving any information out. It is the unspoken words that can cause conflict later on.
Step3
Wait to converse about things of importance until the timing is not off. In other words do not approach for a conversation until you have your partner's full attention.
Step4
Approach gently but do not start with negative warnings that this conversation is going to have a negative twist to it. Rather start with stating that something is not a big deal and ask rather than demand.
Step5
Avoid reckless honesty! Do not reveal information that does not have a constructive purpose.

Tips & Warnings

  • It has been said that men have a three minute window where they can listen closely. Keep that in mind when you are talking to your partner.
