Things You'll Need:
- A mini skirt
- Confidence
-
Step 1
Be age appropriate. Know what style of skirt is correct for your age, because nothing looks more ridiculous that a woman wearing something that should be left to teenagers.
Age Guidelines:
* Teens: Can get away with denim, unstructured miniskirt, but please watch the shortness of the skirt.
* 20's: You are old enough to take the mini to the extreme look for skirts with style and flair; don't just stick with the denim because you can.
* 30's: Look for a skirt with structure, such as an A-line mini or one of the new high waisted styles.
* 40's: Drop the length of the skirt to below mid-thigh.
* 50's: Go for skirts that are a bit more conservative and career like. The skirt should probably only be a few inches above the knee. -
Step 2
A structred high waisted mini skirt.Know your body, especially those legs. Make you legs you best assets after all, the point of the mini skirt is to flaunt those fabulous legs if this is an area of the body you are uncomfortable with try flaunting one that makes you feel fabulous, like your arms or back. Or make those legs look even better through exercise, self-tanner, or wearing hosiery.

Step 3
Tafetta gathered mini skirt with sophistication and style.Choose the right style. It is not just length here that matters, but also what the skirt looks like. The color and fabric of a mini skirt can go a long way to making you look fierce. Darker colors and pleats can make the skirt look more sophisticated, while denim will make you look like you belong at the beach. Look for the little details like make and shape to help determine if this is the right style. And if you have an inkling that it might be inappropriate to wear, follow your gut and find another style.
-
Step 4
A belted baggy mini skirt, great for a summer day.Learn what to wear on top. This is an area where you also have to be careful of being age appropriate. Women under thirty can get away with showing more skin on top, but always remember that you are showing a lot of skin already and be careful of what you choose. If the mini skirt is fitted try a looser top or even a sweater set.
-
Step 5
Learn what shoes to wear. Heels are a great way to make your legs look fitter and leaner, but they can also quickly become a mistake with a miniskirt. Always do what you feel is best, but try the skirt with a lower heel or a closed toe heel. You don't have to stick with flats here, be bold and choose a heel that completes the outfit.
