Step 1
Start young with your child in implementing rules. What you get your children used to now will be with them when they are teenagers. Don't just let them do what they want "because they are just kids" now and then expect to raise them when they become teenagers--that won't work.
-
Step 2
Follow up the breaking of rules with discipline. Don't delay the discipline, be consistent but loving. I get comments that my children are very well behaved because I never waver from discipline. Make sure it's age appropriate and it's explained to the child what rule they broke.
-
Step 3
Have patience and enjoy the ride. Love your children no matter what phase they are in. Time goes by fast, so enjoy every moment. Fill your time taking them to the park, making homemade projects, baking cupcakes, etc. Have fun! The more children, the merrier.
-
Step 4
Big families must stay on a tight budget. Don't go over your budget no matter what. Find ways to enjoy each other with very little money involved. Seek financial counsel if you are clueless on how to implement and stick to a budget.
