Make Butterfly Cupcakes for Children.

These cupcakes are great for a child's birthday party, a party during the spring time, or really any time you feel like making something fun and creative for the kids or even with the kids.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3/4c butter, softened
  • 3/4c sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tea. vanilla extract
  • 2c self-rising flour
  • 1/2c. milk
  • White icing
  • 1/2 gummy worm
  • 2 fruit slices, sliced in half
  • Gumdrop slices
  • 1/2 inch pieces of shoestring licorice.
  1. Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.

  2. Step 2

Fill greased muffin cups half full, and bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.

  3. Step 3

Frost each cupcake and arrange the following on top: use a gummy worm for the abdomen, fruit slices for the wings and add gumdrop slices with icing if you so desire. Finish by attaching the licorice to create antennae.

Tips & Warnings
  • Any cupcake recipe can be used for this basic idea.
  • Also, I like to use the gummy fruit slice candy for this recipe, but I have used real fruit slices before.
