Things You’ll Need:
- 1 vintage dresser Drawer
- 4 castors
- Wood screws
- Sand paper
- Primer
- Paint
- Paint trays
- Paint brush
- Shelf liner
- Power drill
Step1
Remove the dresser drawer from the body of the vintage wood dresser.
Step2
Make any repairs as needed. You need your wood dresser drawer to be in tact and sturdy to create usable under bed storage drawers.
Step3
Unscrew the hardware from the drawer and set advise to reinstall later.
Step4
Sand the surface of the dresser drawer knightly. Use a fine grit sand paper to gently smooth the surface of the wood and prepare it for painting.
Step5
Wipe away the dust from the sanding. Primer the whole dresser drawer out in a good quality primer. Let this dry.
Step6
Paint the entire under bed storage drawer out in any color you wish. By painting the fronts and insides of the drawer you can eliminate the need for a dust ruffle. The fronts of the drawer swill be visible from the under side of the bed.
Step7
Reinstall the drawer hardware in the same holes as before. Flip the dresser drawers over upside down on a flat surface. Place on castors in each of the four corners.
Step8
Mark the holes where the castors will screw into the wood storage drawers. Remove the castors and pre-drill the holes with your power drill.
Step9
Place the castors back over the pre-drilled holes. Screw them into place with wood screws. Flip the wood under bed storage drawer back over right side up.
Step10
Measure the inside floor of the drawer. Cut out your shelf liner to this same size. Lay the shelf line inside the floor of the storage drawer.
