The Golden Globes are canceled. But that doesn't mean you can't have your own Golden Globes party on the night before the scheduled broadcast. So, gather up your friends and throw a Go for the Golden Globes Party!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • DVDs of select nominees
  • Sheets of paper
  • Cash
  • Chips and dip
  • Meat and cheese platter
  • Veggie platter
  • Sodas
  • Punch
  • Gold money bank

Step1
Send out an evite for your Go for the Golden Globes Party. Ask each guest to bring $10 cash to contribute to the Golden Globes cash pool. Explain that the winner will take home the cash and a grand prize.
Step2
Head to your local video store and purchase the DVDs of 4 Golden Globe nominees. For example, "Hairspray," "A Mighty Heart," "Ratatouille," etc.
Step3
Take a trip to the grocery store and pick up chips, dip, a meat and cheese platter (or more depending on the number of people coming), a veggie platter, sodas and fruit punch. Set up a table with your food items.
Step4
When guests arrive, give them slips of paper with a full list of nominees typed out. Ask them to write their name at the top of the page and circle a nominee in each category that they think will win.
Step5
Collect $10 from each guests and put it inside of the gold money bank.
Step6
Pop in a couple of the DVDs. Allow guests to have snacks and drinks.
Step7
Once the winners have been announced, tally up the results and declare a winner.
Step8
Give the winner the cash and all of the purchased DVDs as the grand prize.
