Legendary Yankee Stadium is heading into its final season in 2008. However, the new Yankee Stadium is right across the street. Game attendance will sky rocket even higher this year, even though getting to The House that Ruth Built can be somewhat complicated.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Avoid driving your car. Traffic around Yankee Stadium and all of New York City is a nightmare. Also due to the new stadium's construction, several of the parking lots will be closed.

  2. Step 2

Take the subway. The 4, B and D trains from the city take passengers to a stop at the corner of 161st Street and River Avenue just outside of the stadium. There is no need to be worried about riding the subway alone at night, the train cars will be filled with Yankee fans.

  3. Step 3

Ride on the bus. The BX6, BX13 and BX55 stop at 161st Street. The stop is just a short walk to the stadium.

  4. Step 4

Cruise on the Ferry. NY Waterways runs The Yankee Clipper from Belford, Weehawken, Hoboken and Manhattan. The ship provides gorgeous views of the Manhattan Skyline. It also serves as a floating tailgate party with food, beer, wine and soda. The ship departs 30 minutes after the final out is recorded so no need to worry about extra inning games.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Subway ride to Yankee Stadium from Midtown Manhattan is about 25 minutes.
  • The Ferry is usually not overly crowded, however reservations are recommended.
  • Allow for plenty of time for subway travel. The train cars fill up very quickly.
