Use the older version of Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition 1.0 to create an endless number of printable artworks that will rival what you can find in any department store or print shop.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition 1.0 or higher
  1. Step 1

Open Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition 1.0. Then by using the menu on the top left of the program choose Get & Fix Photo and upload any photos or pictures of your choice that you want to change into an original work of art.

  2. Step 2

If you don't have a photo already in your hold menu, you should download two photos and by leaving the one you DON'T want to work on the top, click Send & Save then choose To Disk, then choose Export and the application will ask if you want to hold the photo (the one in the background) to the hold file. By doing this, if you make a change to your artwork that you don't want to keep, you can cancel it and reopen the earlier version and start again at your last save point. Saving your work periodically to the hold file helps to be sure you get exactly what you want for changes without having to start all over again from the beginning.

  3. Step 3

Once the photo you want to work on is open you can use the Advanced tab to change your photo by using the Edit, Tools, Rotate, Size, Touchup, Repair or Effects tabs. Each one has different tools listed under it. Experimenting with the tools allows you to create any number of beautiful artworks that then can be saved to your hard drive or be sent directly to your printer from the program.

  4. Step 4

You can colorize, tint, distort, blur, clean up dust, make black and white from color, accent edges, emboss, crackle, solarize, make a negative, give it a neon glow, patchwork, cloud texture, page curl, pond ripple, shear, sphere, pinch, crystalize and more with this program. I like to use the different tools all together or one on top of the other to create unique and one of a kind pieces. It is wise to hit UNDO after each click for a change if you don't want to keep the change. Once you click another change you can't go back and undo the previous change. That is why is important to save a copy or copies of your work in the hold file as you go along.

  5. Step 5

You can use the Special Effects under the menu on the left, then choose Collage to make a collage of two or more photos together. Again, experimenting with the function of the tools really helps to come up with some wonderful works of art.

  6. Step 6

Any photo or picture or combinations of images can be used to create you own printable work of art. Printing on different papers also helps to create a professional looking piece. I use glossy photo paper up to 11x14 along with colored papers, rag papers, transfer papers, vellum paper, etc. Use what works for you and see what you come up with.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the Special Effects to go even further with your artwork and use the Artistic, Transform, Blur, Cool or Elegant tabs to be able to choose even more tools to use.
  • My best word of advice would be to EXPERIMENT!!! That is the best way to learn to use the program features and don't be afraid to use the tools in ways that the tools wouldn't necessarily be used for.
  • Saving the files you create in the jpeg format is usually fine enough for printing out artwork up to 11x14 size or a little larger if you have the printing capacity on your printer.
  • Don't forget to save a copy of your original before working on the project in the Hold File and when satisfied with a certain look, keep saving it so you can always have a back up copy in case you make a change that you can't undo.
  • Don't forget to use the text function under the Tools to sign you work of art before printing or saving to your hard drive.
