Things You'll Need:
- Protective gear
- Hip ramp
-
Step 1
Find an open area with a hip ramp. A hip ramp has one side you face and another face to the right or left of the initial face.
-
Step 2
Pedal up to speed to get airborne on the ramp.
-
Step 3
Approach the ramp at an angle so the bike goes toward the hip ramp. You will cross the face of the ramp, and land on the side face of the ramp.
-
Step 4
Do a bunny hop at the top of the ramp to get your wheels into the air.
-
Step 5
Turn your head and let your shoulders, body and bike follow while in the air. The direction you turn your bike depends on where the ramp on which you will land is located. If the ramp is on the left side as you approach the jump, you will turn to your right. If the ramp you will land on is on the right side, do the turn to the left.
-
Step 6
Spot your landing (look for it as early as possible and keep your eye on it), and hit it.
-
Step 7
Practice doing this 270 several times until you have it down on the ramp you are using.
-
Step 8
Add a quick bar spin to the 270 while you are in the air. Move one hand off the handlebars and spin the handlebars with the other hand (in either direction). Catch the handlebars in their original position.
-
Step 9
Land the bike and pedal around for another attempt.
