You can use Verizon web mail for a variety of useful applications, including safe, secure online storage of document attachments and email functions. In order to qualify for a Verizon web mail account, you'll need to be a Verizon customer.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Verizon Internet service or cell phone service
  1. Step 1

Sign up for Verizon Internet service. Customers are automatically provided with a primary Verizon email address, and the capability to add a fixed number of subsidiary email accounts. The number of sub accounts you'll be allowed may differ, depending on the state in which you live.

  2. Step 2

Enter the email address and password you're provided to access Verizon web mail.

  3. Step 3

Familiarize yourself with the basic features of Verizon web mail. Like most email clients, you're provided with an inbox, sent messages folder, drafts folder, trash can or deleted messages folder and the ability to carbon-copy, forward and automatically reply to messages.

  4. Step 4

Compose messages by clicking on the "New Message" or "Compose Message" button. (Its exact name may vary, and is subject to change if Verizon redesigns the interface.) As with other email clients, you can send the same message to multiple recipients by separating each email address with a comma.

  5. Step 5

Create your contacts list by entering the name and email addresses of individuals you correspond with frequently. Depending on what other email clients you use, if any, you may also be able to import a contacts list directly into Verizon web mail without having to manually re-enter your contacts one by one.

  6. Step 6

Read incoming messages by clicking on the "Inbox" hyperlink. You will be redirected to a page listing all the emails that your account has received. Click on the sending party's name or the subject line of the message to be carried through to the body of each email.

  7. Step 7

Access the advanced settings menu by clicking on the provided link. Here, you will have the ability to set up spam filters, delineate timelines for stored messages and edit your account settings from their defaults.

  8. Step 8

Continue to make adjustments to your account settings as you use your Verizon email account. With experience, you'll learn more about your preferences.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you subscribe to Verizon cellular telephone service, you automatically get a Verizon email account for your phone. You can use this account on the web as well by logging in using your provided username and password on Verizon's web mail site (see Resources below).
