Things You'll Need:
- Paid version of Eudora Mail
-
Step 1
Pay for your preferred subscription version of Eudora Mail. Download the program and install the interface on your computer.
-
Step 2
Follow the prompts to create your "Junk" inbox folder. The junk folder appears as a sub-folder in your mailbox list, and messages that Eudora Mail determines are spam are sent directly into it.
-
Step 3
Bear in mind that you cannot delete or rename the "Junk" mailbox.
-
Step 1
Display the default SpamWatch options. Use the "Tools" menu to access the "Options" display. Click on the "Junk Mail" icon to show the SpamWatch junk mail settings.
-
Step 2
Adjust the "Junk Threshold" as you prefer. Lowering this number will increase the severity of the filtering, which may cause legitimate email to be directed to your junk folder. Conversely, raising this number will relax your spam filter settings, causing more junk to be delivered to your inbox. Experience will be your best guide in determining where you ought to set the "Junk Threshold."
-
Step 3
Create an address book entry for any mail delivered to the junk mailbox that should have gone in your inbox. Eudora Mail will not classify a message as junk if its originating email address matches an entry in your address book, as long as you check the box beside this option in your SpamWatch settings menu.
-
Step 4
Check the box to create address book entries automatically for all mail that you designate as non-junk.
-
Step 5
Enable the "Warn Before Removing" option if you wish to be prompted with a warning before you can delete a message from the junk mailbox.
-
Step 6
Change the amount of time that Eudora Mail stores spam. The default is 30 days, but you can have Eudora Mail kick spam out of your junk mail folder in as little as 1 day, if you prefer.
-
Step 7
Click the check box next to the "Junk mailbox is never marked unread" option if you would prefer that Eudora Mail not mark spam as unread.
