Worldmail is a popular Eudora email platform, offering a host of useful features, including wireless email integration and advanced management and administration tools. However, given changes in Eudora's parent company, Qualcomm, Worldmail will become known as MailSite SE, available from a company called Rockliffe.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Meet Worldmail System Requirements

Step1
Ensure that you are running at least Windows XP or Windows 2000. Eudora Worldmail is also available for Windows Server 2003 Standard and Enterprise editions.
Step2
Use an Intel-compatible processor that can run at a clip of at least 700 MHz.
Step3
Clear at least 50MB of storage space to host the program on your computer's hard drive.
Step4
Use Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher as your web browser.
Step5
Install and run a DNS client, NTSF file system and TCP/IP transport. These features should automatically be present on any system that meets the other requirements, though you should consult your operating system owner's manual if you are not certain you can meet these system requirements.

Understand Worldmail Features

Step1
Visit the Eudora Worldmail server to purchase, download and install the Worldmail email client (see Resources below).
Step2
Use Worldmail to receive instant notification on your cell phone when new messages are delivered to your Eudora Worldmail inbox. All Worldmail products come standard with push email functionality that will notify you via SMS when important messages are delivered.
Step3
Improve your email inbox manageability by using Eudora Worldmail. Worldmail includes features like easy customization, a traffic counting interface, domain quotas and message stores to ensure clients can administrate email accounts with greater ease and reliability.
Step4
Use Worldmail to access anti-virus scanning statistics and advanced sieve filters. These are available through the "Options" setup menu.
Step5
Compare the features of the different Worldmail products by referring to the checklist provided by Eudora (see Resources below). This can help you determine which version of the Eudora Worldmail program would be best suited for your needs.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before authorizing text message alerts for new emails, check with your cell phone service provider to learn about surcharges for text messages. While the occasional text won't create a large phone bill, business users who receive upwards of 100 emails per day may find the costs associated with receiving text message notifications excessive.
  • Be careful about using your credit card online to sign up for paid Worldmail service. Only enter credit card information on secured networks, and avoid supplying credit card data when working from a public or shared computer.
