RichOrPoor Money Management is one of the many personal-finance programs designed to help people balance their budgets and manage bank accounts. The program is relatively inexpensive and the features are easy to use.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Generate charts and graphs to help you understand your current and future financial conditions. Use any of the 33 specially designed charts that are included with RichOrPoor's software. Track your assets and debts, and compare monthly income with recurring expenses.

  2. Step 2

Use the "Account Register" module to keep watch on multiple checking, savings or credit accounts. You can configure RichOrPoor to import financial data from multiple sources automatically.

  3. Step 3

Organize your budgets. Track your income and expenses by the year, month, week or day. Use the multiple perspectives to better understand your budget.

  4. Step 4

Create categories to organize every expense charged to your accounts. RichOrPoor is designed with several popular expense categories, though you'll also be able to create new, custom categories to keep track of all of your bills and expenses.

  5. Step 5

Make a calendar to schedule and pay all your bills automatically. Reduce or eliminate unnecessary late fees by configuring the program to pay your credit cards, mortgages and utility bills. Set the program to send you a reminder of all bills that need to be paid before they come due.

  6. Step 6

Protect your finances by implementing a password safeguard on all your files. Even if your computer is lost or stolen, you'll be the only one with a password to access the financial data contained within RichOrPoor.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take advantage of the 30-day trial period offered through RichOrPoor's website. Give yourself a month to explore the program's numerous features and options before you decide to purchase it. Keep your purchase receipt to claim a refund on any money you've paid.
  • Update your RichOrPoor Money Management software regularly. While software updates usually cost a modest amount, the company will grant updates free of charge for the first 2 years after registering the program.
  • Check your computer's operating system and hardware specs before you attempt to use RichOrPoor Money Management software. The program is not designed to run on Apple computers. You may be able to get an emulation program, such, as Crossover, Parallels Desktop or Microsoft Virtual PC, to help you run RichOrPoor on a Mac computer.
