Things You'll Need:
- Camera
- Treats
- Toys
- Pet Bed

Step 1
Make sure your pet has eaten recently and has gone to the bathroom. If he's hungry or has to relieve himself, you can bet he won't sit still for long.
-
Step 2
Tire your pet with a rigorous playing session before you plan to photograph her. This will get all of the excitement out of her system, and she'll be more laid back during your photo shoot.
-
Step 3
Reward your pet with a treat everytime he sits still for a photo. The positive reinforcement will encourage him to remain calm.
-
Step 4
Make a funny or unusual noise in the direction of your pet to catch her attention. She will most likely stop what she is doing and sit still for at least a moment or two.
-
Step 5
Ask someone your pet knows well to hold her while you take the photograph. If you are taking a portrait of your pet's face, no one will know that you had any help.
-
Step 6
Bring a comforting item to the photo shoot, such as your pet's favorite bed. Besides surrounding him with a familiar scent, this will give your pet a designated place to sit and make it easier for him to relax.
-
Step 7
Stay close to your pet during the photo session. If you're the photographer, make sure one of the pet's owners is just outside of the frame. To sit relatively still, most pets will need to be rewarded with treats and petting at frequent intervals during the shoot.
-
Step 8
Reschedule. If your pet isn't cooperating, he may simply be in the wrong mood to sit still. Wait for a more opportune moment.
