NASCAR is a hot-ticket sport these days, with attendance and television viewing records at an all-time high. While the sport is attracting more viewers, many are also attracted to the merchandise and related collectibles of the game. Many racing enthusiasts collect both Formula and NASCAR memorabilia.

From Quick Guide: Sports Memorabilia
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn what's hot in NASCAR collecting. Anything commemorating the Daytona 500 race is a great place to start. Sometimes you can find a photo display that comes with a piece of track from the Daytona International Speedway.

  2. Step 2

Attend the races. Bring along items to be autographed by the star drivers, mechanics, owners and up-and-coming racers of NASCAR. Take advantage of any promotional event in which you can meet a member of NASCAR. Be aware of chances to get free stuff and personal items from the racers that they sometimes give away. A hat, jersey or towel from a famous racer will be a prize for your collection.

  3. Step 3

Find places to buy NASCAR memorabilia. Many sporting good stores carry racing memorabilia, and you might be able to find something that suits your taste and stands the chance of becoming a valued collectible. Lately, you can find vendors at flea markets that sell strictly NASCAR memorabilia.

  4. Step 4

Attend a sports auction to find interesting and valuable pieces of NASCAR memorabilia. Try to find a convention that's held in your area, but if none exist you can always investigate the online auction community.

  5. Step 5

Collect a mini replica of your favorite racer's car. You can showcase all of your small collectible race cars in a display case that can be seen from any angle without obstructions.

  6. Step 6

Jazz up your die-cast car collection by including promotional models. Some of these limited edition cars are designed with manufacturer-specific engine detail, printed graphics and high-quality paint or holiday themes.

  7. Step 7

Collect a few aerial views of famous racing tracks with a nameplate featured below the shot. A panoramic photograph of The Bristol Motor Speedway or other NASCAR hot-spot can truly capture the excitement of the sport and make for a nice collectible.

  8. Step 8

Collect Dale Earnhardt, Sr. cards, postcards, model cars, and signed memorabilia. Retain any player-themed memorabilia in the original packaging, unopened, and keep it free from nicks and tears. If you come across rare sets of Dale Earnhardt chrome action stock cars, such as a limited edition Goodwrench series or a Daytona winning Monte Carlo, these would be prime assets to your lot.
