Things You'll Need:
- Internet
- Glass cleaner
- Snow scraper
-
Step 1
Clean and maintain your vehicle on a regular basis. Keep your windows clean and change your windshield wipers before they get too dull. If your car gets covered in snow, scrape the snow off of the car’s lights so they are more visible.
-
Step 2
Purchase a car whistle, which is a deterrent to wildlife such as deer and other domestic animals. There are wind-activated whistles and electronic ones that attach to your car’s battery.
-
Step 3
Be aware of migration patterns. Deer usually migrate during the spring and fall, and moose tend to migrate between summer and winter.
-
Step 4
Pay attention to road signs. There may be warning signs or crossing signs identifying the type of animal inhabiting the area.
-
Step 5
Limit your driving time during the evening when visibility is impaired. When driving at night, you should reduce your speed, especially in areas without roadway lighting.
