Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Patience
- Fluency in a second language
Step1
Be fluent in the second language.
Step2
Start off slowly. Replace a few words at a time in the second language.
Let the child know what the word means. Continue to add a few words every week.
Step3
Ask the child to use the new words in everyday tasks. For example, encourage your child to ask you for things in the second language.
This should be as simple as having your child ask for milk in the second language. Save the more complex words for later!
Step4
Play movies and music in the second language. Every language has its own rythym. This will help your children catch on to that rythym.
Step5
Be consistent and patient. Learning a second language takes time and effort. Remember how long it took you to learn that language!
