It may have been a moment you have been planning for some time. Or, it might be a complete surprise to both of you.

But, you can get the message across and hopefully put a smile on both your faces.

Here are some tips.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A gift bag
  • Candles
  • Non-alcoholic wine
  • Poster board and markers
  • Lipstick
  1. Step 1

Breaking what could be the biggest news of both your lives can be done in fun and creative ways. It's best to judge his personality and to determine which is the one he will react the best to.

  2. Step 2

You may want to get a small gift bag or box and wrap up the pregnancy test. Fix dinner and give it to him over the meal. He's likely to wonder what the occasion if for a gift and be even more surprised when he opens it!

  3. Step 3

Another idea is to leave him a lipstick note on the mirror to see when he wakes up. Write in big letters "Good Morning Daddy!" and wait to see how long it takes for him to come rushing in to ask you about it!

  4. Step 4

Surprise him at work. Make a giant poster board sign that says he's going to be a papa and leave it on his car at work or even at his desk. When he sees it, I'm sure you'll get a phone call.

  5. Step 5

If you don't want to surprise him at work or do it in a public way, then decorate the house. Get some baby shower decorations and have them all over the house when he walks in.

  6. Step 6

Or you can leave a note for him in the most surprising place - on your belly! Ask your doctor which kinds of skin paint are safe for you while pregnant (or you can use makeup) and write him a note write on to of the little one!

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a happy time, be creative and surprise him in a way he'll really never forget!
  • Never do anything that's dangerous to you or your baby.
