Your fine art brushes need to be treated with care to keep them from being ruined. Don't waste all that money you spent on your brushes! Store them right and keep them in shape.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

One way to store brushes is to roll them in fabric. The fabric protects them from bumps and breakage of the fibers.

  2. Step 2

Another way to store brushes is to put them upside down in a cup. This isn't a good way to store them if you are traveling, though.

  3. Step 3

Smaller brushes can be protected with by putting it in a straw. Make sure not to splay the bristles when putting it in the drinking straw. The best way to do it is to put the brush in handle first.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sometimes smoothing ruined bristles with hair conditioner will fix splayed bristles. This works best on real hair brushes.
  • Never put a brush hair down in a container. This will ruin the bristles.
