My Yellow Lab is such a challenge. Not only does he have food allergies, he drives me insane when he scratches excessively. This article is to help your sanity back to normal when dealing with your dog that scratching too much!

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • fitted clothing for your dog or any appropriate size t-shirt
  • shampoo with aloe

Step1
If you bathe your dog yourself, wash your furry friend with an aloe based shampoo and lather him/her up.
Step2
Rinse off excess shampoo thoroughly.
Step3
When done, make sure he or she is completely dry using a blow dryer made for animals.
Step4
Then, put on your dog the t-shirt you've selected. This should keep your furry friend from scratching! It worked with my yellow lab like a charm.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the tshirt or clothing is cotton material and not wool!

on 1/7/2008 What I find helpful is the neck leash attached to a pole to keep them in place even when their body jerks a little here or there. I bathe my dogs at the PetCo selfwash and they have these pedestals with a neck leash attached to a pole and it helps keep my dogs in place even when they move. Try also luring them with treats to stay still. Keeping the drying part of their bath-time fun and treat-ful is a big plus.
