Frogger: Afraid of the traffic?
Frogger: Afraid of the traffic?

The leisurely pace during the early rounds of the video game Frogger makes it seem easy. But soon the buses and cars and flying by and the logs to jump on are few and far between. How does one consistently transport his frog all the way across when the pace gets fast and furious? Find out here!

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • Quick fingers
  • Sharp eye
  1. Step 1

Take a deep breath. Make a commitment to patience. Just like the story of the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady wins this race!

  2. Step 2

Wait to make your first hop. Jump only into decent-sized openings on the road. Don't be afraid to make left-to-right jumps to buy time for a opening going forward.

  3. Step 3
Be careful! One false move and your frog gets it!
Be careful! One false move and your frog gets it!

Spend as much time as necessary on the bottom half, especially early in the round. There are only a few spots in which to jump once you reach the water, but they are available and only a careless mistake will cost you.

  4. Step 4

Make sure the snakes are nowhere near you when you reach the middle. Be certain there will be a spot to make a jump before the snakes reach you.

  5. Step 5

Attempt to reach the final destinations on the left first. They are the toughest spots to occupy. If it's too late, you can always settle for one of the other spots.

  6. Step 6

Remember that Level 8 is by far the most difficult. Plan on getting caught once or twice on that level. A good pattern will get you through any other level, so pick a method that works. Utilizing a specific pattern on Level 8 is nearly impossible, so stay sharp and spend as much time as you need.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't do anything foolish! Taking chances on the hardest levels of Frogger must be considered only when all else fails and time is running out.
  • Be careful on that final jump. There is nothing more frustrating than making it all the way to the end, then miss-timing that last leap.
