How to Be Smarter Than a Fifth Grader (If You're a Parent)

  1. Step 1

The first step in being smarter than a fifth grader is avoid the trap they set up for us. Most fifth graders will look to get you somehow, make sure you dodge the trap. Remember, the trap can come anytime and involve almost any topic.

  2. Step 2

Don't let them fool you with their less than intelligent act. Fifth graders will spend more time figuring out how to not do something than actually doing it. Stand strong and don't fall this act.

  3. Step 3

Don't challenge them when they are in groups. All that whispering and snickering will frustrate you and leave you exposed. Deal with fifth graders individually and you will hold the power

  4. Step 4

Keep the conversation away from their topics they know. Talk quickly and with little explanation, that way they are unsure of exactly what your talking about. If they figure it out you are in trouble.

Tips & Warnings
  • Fifth graders are slick and we adults must stick together. Otherwise, they will take over the world.
