How to Be a Cheerful Giver

Do you give because you expect something from the other person? Do you like to hold on to things you know you don't need? Does it hurt you to give money, clothes or food? Everyone loves a cheerful giver, and you can become one with the simple steps outlined below.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Give with no strings attached. Learn to give just for the joy of it. When you give, do not expect a thank you, a hug or an acknowledgment. If you can give in secret, all the better.
Step2
Be on the offensive and look for ways to give on purpose. Do not wait for a person to ask you for something. Open your eyes and find needs to meet. The world needs you and the things only you can give. Don't hold on to what good fortune has given you. Open you hand and let it go.
Step3
Stretch your giving. Give something away that hurts. The more you give, the more you will receive. Don't give with ulterior motives, and above all, do not give away things and constantly remind the person of how much you sacrificed for them.
Step4
Do not attach yourself to your possessions. When you leave this earth, you will not be able to take anything with you. Material possessions can always be replaced--family and friends cannot.
