How to Make Homemade Laundry Stain Pretreater

If you have laundry stains to deal with, there are dozens of brands that promise to do the trick--all of which are pricey and may or may not work. Try this homemade prewash stain solution. It works well on most stains and it's really economical.

Things You’ll Need:

• 1 tsp. liquid laundry detergent
• 2 tbs. ammonia
• 1 pt. warm water
• Spray bottle

1. Mix ingredients into a spray bottle. You can use a lightly scented ammonia if you prefer. Shake it up well.
2. Check your laundry for stains. Spray the spot, soaking it well. Let each garment stand for about 20 minutes before washing.
3. Wash as usual and your stains should be history! You can try this a second time if needed, letting it stand a little longer before washing it again.
