How to argue with class

Everyone argues at one time or another, but how do you do it wit a little bit of class, so the other person doesn't feel like they have lost dignity and respect from you....

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • You
  • The other person
  • Arguement

Step1
First off, lets nail this right off in the beginning, everyone and I mean everyone will have arguments. I don't care if you are the king of a country, a mom and her son, or two deer in the woods. Everyone argues. It is how you choose to argue that can make you a bit better in the eyes of the other person.
Step2
You have an argument over money with your significant other, and it is getting heated... What do you do? Well first, instead of being the one always arguing, how about putting the daggers away for a few, and try listening to the other person. Open your ears and your heart to what this other person is trying to convey to you.
Step3
Don't just listen, actively listen.... This is hard to do sometimes, especially if you have never done it before. Actively listening means being involved with the conversation, or argument, whatever the case may be. If your in the room, be in the room. This will show the other person, you care enough to listen carefully to their problem.
Step4
Next, after you are sure they have said their piece, it is your turn. However, this does not give you the right to go off the handle at this other person. In a calm manner, confront them with your side of the problem. If this cant be done peacefully at first, that's ok, take a walk, or spend some time alone, and come back when you are ready to talk it out instead of yelling.
Step5
The most important step, is to acknowledge each others concerns, and address them. Find a solution together. Once again the fact that you are willing to do this will show the other person you care. Find something that is going to work for you both. Make sure it is not a temporary fix though, because I can guarantee that your problem will be waiting, and will come back before you are ready for it.
