Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Posterboard
- markers
- charity
- chairs
- refreshments
- entrance (optional)
Step1
The first step is to decide which day of the week to have the show. Talk to the parents in the neighborhood and decide based on the days that they are available most often. This is the key, as you want to have a great attendance to the talent show.
Step2
Once you decide upon the date, have each participant make a sign up out of poster board, and post it in their part of the neighborhood. Make sure they know the key information to add to the sign.
Step3
Gather all of the children around you and figure out what talents each child has. For those children that are just to shy, or that have no talent they feel comfortable sharing, give them important tasks such as introductions or collecting the donations at the door.
Step4
Set up a charitable cause that you can donate the proceeds to and include them in the show. This will help participation, and do some civic good as well.
Step5
Ask the neighborhood handyman for help designing a small stage or entrance to the show. Most areas have one that will probably help out for free, but if not, a overhanging tree and sheet on a rope will do just fine.
Step6
Set up the chairs and provide refreshments to all who attend. Make them as comfortable as possible. If you could not get chairs, then lay out blankets or have them bring their own lawn chairs. Put on a great show!
