How can you show this man who has been the greatest dad around how much you value him in your life? Put yourself in his shoes and think about what he'd most like and the gift idea should come naturally. But don't limit yourself to just a gift. Here are some tips for making a special Father's Day for dear old dad.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Surprise him with breakfast in bed. Or surprise him by letting him sleep in, and then taking him to breakfast!

  2. Step 2

Take a look at his wardrobe and decide what needs replacing or revamping.

  3. Step 3

Take him to a special place that he's been wanting to go. Let him pick where to eat, what to do -- he gets to be the king!

  4. Step 4

Have the kids make him something very special -- tell them they can only give him something they make or find. Have them write a few sentences to Dad about what makes him special to them, what they like best about him, what he's done that has changed their lives.

  5. Step 5

Taking the whole family to visit Grandpa is a good idea. Celebrate both dads with a family dinner! Talk about favorite memories you have with both fathers.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your dad is out of town, send a card and gift ahead of time, and always call on the day to remind him how much you love him.
  • Fathers need to be reminded how much they are appreciated. Writing this in a letter, or spending some time with your dad and talking about him will be something meaningful to him that he'll remember.
