The orginal Kong toy!
The orginal Kong toy!

You were told that the Kong is the best toy for your dog. Gives your dog mental stimulation, keeps them busy, and they love them! Now you have one at home and have no idea how to stuff it, I am here to help!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Small hard or soft treats
  • Freezer
  • Other food items
  1. Step 1

If your dog has never had a Kong you want to start off easy so they can understand the concept. If it is too hard they will give up and never want to play with it again.

  2. Step 2

Start with taking a spoonful or two of peanut butter and spreading it inside the Kong. This will keep the treats inside the Kong and entice your dog.

  3. Step 3

Once the peanut butter is in, stick some hard and/or soft treats into the peanut butter.

  4. Step 4

Once your dog has mastered the peanut butter with treats in it you can step it up a notch. Freeze the peanut butter and treat concoction. This will make it more difficult for your dog to get it all out.

  5. Step 5

Getting bored of peanut butter? There are many other treats you can stuff into a Kong. Go to the official Kong website for recipe suggestions - http://www.kongcompany.com/worlds_best.html

Tips & Warnings
  • Kongs can be messy so be sure to have your dog play with the Kong outside or in a place that can be easily cleaned.
  • Be aware that dogs can have food allergies, you can check with your vet before giving certain foods to your dog to be sure.
  • Always purchase the right size Kong for the right size dog. A small Kong can be easily swallowed by a large dog.
  • If your dog starts to chew up the rubber of the Kong throw it away, you don't want them ingesting the rubber pieces.
