How to Make Faux Lace for Your Scrapbook Pages

Paper is extremely versatile when it comes to scrapbooking and decorating scrapbook layouts. Paper embellishments are inexpensive and simple to create. Use scrapbook paper to make faux lace on your scrapbook page and create an elegant look for your layout.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Scrapbook paper
• 1/8” hole punch or small craft punch (optional)
• Decorative scallop scissors
• Corner rounder
• Adhesive

1. Cut your paper to the desired size. It is best to cut a paper strip about ½” to 1” thick.

2. Use scallop scissors to cut a straight line across the paper strip on one side. You can also use your corner rounder to create scallops across your paper strip; you may have to remove the paper guard on your rounding tool.

3. Next use the 1/8” hole punch to make holes in the middle of the scallop shapes to resemble lace.

4. Decorate the paper or use patterned paper for the lace, and then attach it to your scrapbook layout in the proper place.

Tips & Warnings

• You may want to stamp or decorate the paper ahead of time before you cut out your lace pattern, but embellishments will have to be added afterward if they are dimensional.
• Faux lace can act as a great page boarder of photo mat. You can use it on baby girl page to make it more feminine.
• The size of the lace can be controlled by the size of the scallops. The decorative scallop scissors are available in different sizes.
