Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- A strong desire to be healthy.
- Will power
- Discipline
- A lifestyle with a few minutes a day for a routine.
Step1
First, you need to look at certain aspects of your diet, like portion size and meal times.
See how much you eat and how often you have the urge to eat. This will probably be too much, but it will only take a couple of weeks to break this routine. Set up 3-4 times per day to eat on a schedule to train your body to only be hungry at certain times in the day. Your portion size is probably too great as well. To contrl this, you have to start minimizing your meal size. Don't eat until you can't eat anymore, only eat until you are just about full. I know this sounds very strict, but within two weeks, you will have trained your body to recognize and only crave a healty diet
Step2
Second, take a look at what you are eating and how regularly you are eating it.
Don't worry, you can still eat what you like, but not in excess. This even means fast food, but not twice a day, everyday! With your everyday diet, try to stick to well-balanced meals, consisting of, meats, veggies, breads, and plenty of water. Fruits are always good for you and they taste great as well. Try to have your biggest meals before the evening and then a small meal sometime before bed.
Step3
Drink as much water as you can.
Water is a necessity when trying to stay healthy. The more you drink water regularly, the more your systems is cleaned and flush out without collecting all of the sugars and carbs from sodas(there are nine tablespoons of sugar in each can of soda) and alcohol. This dosen't that you can't have sodas or alcohol, but not in excess. Try not to drink more than one soda a day or 5 alcoholic beverages in a week. With the commitment to this step you will see very quick results in how you look and feel.
Step4
Exercise daily.
This dosen't mean that you have to go buy a membership to a gym, but try to do something everyday that makes you sweat. Whether it be playing a sport, working in the yard, working out, or my favorite... making love, get somekind of exercise everyday. The more the better.

on 2/5/2008 Good advice. Wish more parents would encourage their kids to enjoy the act of eating more whole foods and less 'dead' food.
