Making healthier choices and changing your eating habits is challenging but with online tools it can become manageable and fun. I have used fitday.com for years. It's free and accessible from anywhere that you log in-work or home. You can purchase the pc version, but I have found the online version to be very comprehensive and easy to use your free online diet journal.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Motivation
  • Goals
  • Internet
Step1
Go to Fitday.com and sign up. Take a moment to make your profile and a easy to remember password to login.
Step2
Take a few minutes to browse the site to familiarize yourself. Then click on the weight link and log in your weight info and begin to set your goals!
Step3
The journal area is a great place to log your meals, moods, or anything else you wish to journal about your dieting experience. You can choose to make your diary public or private.
Step4
Tracking your foods is simple. Just type in a keyword, like "bread" then find the bread that you ate or plan to eat and add it to your day, then you can modify the portion size with convenient tables and update the food option.

What I like about fitday is the ability to add foods that aren't on their comprehensive list. For example, if I make a low carb chili, I can add the ingredients and make my own food item that will be there for use the next time I use the same recipe, with all the nutritional elements that make it easy to track my calories, etc!
Step5
Don't forget about the reports section! This is where you can view your progress. Whether it be your nutritional goals, weight loss progress or activities, it's all there in chart form that is fun and easy to use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Fitday.com is not a diet program, rather a tracking program for whatever healthy regime you have chosen.
  • Keep it fun, do it regularly, whether it be once a day, or once a week, whatever fits into your schedule or lifestyle choices.
  • Always check with your Dr before beginning any exercise or diet program
