Step1

1) Be confident.

No matter how well you can smooth talk a person, if you are just not confident enough, then your whole act of asking a guy out will not end up successful.

Step2

) Don't beat around the bush.

If you want to ask a guy out, then ask the guy out. Avoid beating around the bush, for the guy may get your signals and messages mixed up, and end up not understanding what you are really trying to ask him. Simple, just ask him!

Step3

Don't try to anticipate the asking too much, for it will only make things a whole lot tougher than it needs to be. It is alright to try and imagine what possible scenarios may happen during your asking, but keep in mind that you will not exactly know what will happen unless it happens.

4) Don't appear too eager

on 4/27/2008 I think, like you said, being direct is definitely key in asking guys out. Even if you leave the most blatant signals ever, he still might not get it and he still may think that you don't like him so definitely go for directness!
