At their last check-up, the world's oceans weren't quite fit as a fiddle. The prescription for better health: Help from each one of us.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Only purchase sustainable varieties of seafood (find a link below) that will preserve the oceans' delicate eco-systems.

  2. Step 2

    Continue doing whatever you can to stem climate change. It's been shown that global warming has already begun to affect oceans.

  3. Step 3

    Use as little plastic as possible. A massive island of discarded plastic now exists in the Pacific.

  4. Step 4

    Buy food products that are produced without the use of fertilizers, which find their way to the ocean, creating huge "dead zones."

  5. Step 5

    Strive to use alternative and locally-produced fuels. Off-shore oil drilling and oil spills from huge tankers have devastated the seas on several occasions.
