Do you love the brownie dessert but you are not so fond of the ooey gooey texture? Wish your brownies were more fluffy and cake-like? You are in luck. Brownies are versatile and you can control the texture with one simple ingredient. It’s all in the eggs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Brownie mix or recipe
  • Water
  • Eggs
  • Oil
  • Flour
  • Baking pan
  • Electric beaters
  • Oven
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to correct temperature per directions on the brownie mix. Next, pour brownie mix into mixing bowl then add required ingredients. Typically you will add water, oil, flour and eggs to the mix.

  2. Step 2

For the cake-like fluffy texture that you desire, add one extra egg. Fudge brownies require less egg for the gooey brownie, but the extra egg will magically transform brownies into a lighter, fluffy, cake-like texture.

  3. Step 3

Beat all ingredients together with electric beaters.

  4. Step 4

Pour batter into well-greased pan and bake per directions on the box or follow your recipe instructions.

  5. Step 5

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or according to the directions on the box; do not overcook or undercook. Cool brownies thoroughly and frost with chocolate frosting. Your finished product should be fluffy cake-like brownies ready to eat.

Tips & Warnings
  • If frosting is too sweet for your taste, then lightly dust the top of the brownies with powdered sugar and serve.
  • There are several variations you can choose for toppings such as chopped nuts or sprinkles on top of the frosting. You can also choose to top the brownies with a fruit topping such as strawberries or raspberries. Another delicious topping is vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup to make a decadent brownie sundae.
