Here's how to make calls in Europe without running up a big bill and even get your own local number for folks to reach you in Europe.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • GSM tri-band, unlocked cell phone

Step1
Visit the Call In Europte website (see Resources below).
Step2
Purchase a special SIM card and take it with you on your travels.
Step3
When you reach an area where your carrier does not provide service, or charges exorbitant roaming or per-minute rates, insert the Call In Europe SIM.
Step4
You can choose to continue receiving calls on your U.S. cell number or get a local European number for receiving calls.

Tips & Warnings

  • The SIM cards Call in Europe provides are also compatible with Blackberries and Smartphones.
