Metal Peeling Paint
Metal Peeling Paint

You look around the outside of your home and everything looks great...except for that gutter with the peeling paint. Don't worry; this is easily repaired.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Scrape and remove all peeling paint.

  2. Step 2

Sand down to reveal the metal surface and eliminate any hard paint edges.

  3. Step 3

Clean the surface thoroughly with mineral spirits on a rag using rubber gloves.

  4. Step 4

Paint on a coat of metal paint primer and allow to dry. You can use a brush or spray. If spraying be sure to cover any areas you don't want painted with over spray.

  5. Step 5

If necessary; paint on a second coat.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cover any areas with a drop cloth and use plastic drop cloths to protect areas from over spray if using spray paint.
  • Use a mask if using spray paint to avoid inhaling the over spray.
