Once upon a time online dating was thought of as strictly for losers and worst! Today the Internet has now become the new “cyber” place to meet and arrange a date. However; the element of anonymity makes online dating, as opposed to the usual dating practices, more potentially risky for those seeking partners. Since the usual ways of judging a person up close through their body language, physical appearance and other factors are totally absent in online dating. Meeting people in person is still the best way to find a potential dating partner. In order to meet good people you must go where good people are. The following six tips might be of help to singles in search of quality dating partners.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Go to your place of worship, cultural places like art galleries, museums, library, concerts halls, or even go out for a walk in a park and talk with other walkers.
Step2
Join a group where you have an interest. For example, if you like to read join a group at the library, like to ride a bicycle join a bicycle club, like to help others join a group of volunteers that feed the homeless. By joining a group where you already have an interest you will find other people with the same interests and that makes for better friendships.
Step3
Give a “pot-luck” dinner or social event in which each invited quest must bring a dish and one person from the opposite sex.
Step4
Attend a small class at a local college that meets “in the round” (desks facing one another or around a table). Such classes may be small writing classes or other classes that require peer-review of assignments and encourages group discussions.
Step5
Try seeing how many different places you can “fit in,” without limiting yourself to any one group, for example eat lunch with co-workers from a different department. Avoid labeling individuals or groups based solely on the way they look, dress, act, or talk.
Step6
Be willing to meet and communicate with people of different ages (older or younger) the important thing is that you both have many things in common this helps in communication, which is so very important to building good dialogue, friendships and that may lead to possibly a date!

Tips & Warnings

  • The most important thing to do when meeting new people is to smile. If you walk around with a smile on your face, even when depressed, people interact with you better. Smile or say hello to someone new every day.
  • You do need to be cautious when meeting people you don’t know. It almost goes without saying that most everyone stretches the truth a little it takes some practice to learn what to look out for when considering a person as a potential date.
