Computers, fabric and quilting; what a concept! When combining all three elements you come up with a unique and fun project.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cotton Fabric
  • Fabric Scraps
  • Sewing Machine
  • Thread
  • Bubble Jet Set 2000
  • Bubble Jet Rinse
  1. Step 1
    Quilt Saying Sample 1
    Quilt Saying Sample 1

Find fun quilting sayings that you want to put on your quilt.

  2. Step 2

For the Sample, using your photo editing software, make a 4 1/2 inch square. Draw another square within that square 1/4 inch from edge. I like to use a dotted line. This will be your sewing line. All writing will be within the dotted line. Another sample is below

  3. Step 3

Choose the font that you would like to be printed. Adjust the printing to go within the dotted lines. You can save this file for future use. Make as many of these sayings as you need in your quilting project.

  4. Step 4

Prepare a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of freezer paper. You can purchase this at any store that sells foil wrap, or plastic wrap. It should be in that section.

  5. Step 5

Cut a piece of "Cotton" fabric that measures 8 1/2 x 11. If you plan on washing your project, it is best to purchase Bubble Jet Set 2000 and Bubble Jet Rinse. Here is a link on how to use this product. http://www.cjenkinscompany.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=bubblejetset2000&Click=3174

  6. Step 6

After your fabric is ready, iron it to the shiny side of the freezer paper. Make sure there are no frays or strings sticking out to catch in your printer. DO NOT use steam as this will curl the paper.

  7. Step 7

Place the paper in your printer. (using the HP printers the fabric side will be facing up). You will be able to get 2 images of 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 quotes on one sheet of paper/fabric.

  8. Step 8
