Pottery Barn Kids (PBK) furnishings and accessories are known for good quality and high style -- but not necessarily for low prices.

Ehow asked Jodi Furman of the award-winning blog, LiveFabuLESS.com (Link below) to provide readers a variety of tried and true tactics that ensure a discounted price tag.

Furman has taught millions of readers a modern and doable way to live an upscale life without the price through her blog and TV appearances. She has an MBA from Columbia Business School and is a married mom with three young kids plus two dogs and two cats.

Sign Up for Coupons, Promotions; Join the Birthday Club

Sign up for Pottery Barn Kids' email list, and follow them on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Do so directly on their homepage, PotteryBarnKids.com. Additionally, sign up on the website to receive their catalog or call 800-993-4923 to request one.

Once you sign up for email, social media and the Pottery Barn Kids catalog, you'll be kept up to date on current promotions and you will regularly receive coupons.

PBK often has promotions, such as "20 percent off all bedding," as well as sales and final markdowns. The prices you see online are almost always identical to those in stores, but if you find a better price online for the same item, the store will match it. Additionally, items that end in $.99 are final markdown and are nonreturnable when you buy them online (not so if you buy them in the store, in which case a 30-day return policy applies).

Coupons typically offer 10 percent off your entire purchase and, for online shoppers, free shipping. On occasion, you might find a coupon for $25 off a $50 purchase. In addition to the coupons that will be emailed to you or posted on PBK's social media pages, they will automatically send you a new mover coupon for 10 percent off your entire purchase if you change your address for Pottery Barn's catalog.

Join the Birthday Club, and you'll get a 10 percent off coupon valid during the month of each of your children's birthdays. Your child must be under 10 in order to qualify.

Create a Registry

Even though you might think that creating a registry is something you do only for weddings and baby showers, you can create a PBK registry -- and you'll get 10 percent off your entire purchase. Doing so also extends their return policy from 30 days to 6 months.

Create a registry for any occasion; do so either in store or online. Here's how to create a registry online:

Go to the registry website (see Resources) and then click on "event date." Set up the event date for as soon as possible, as you won't get the 10 percent completion discount until after the event date has passed. You'll receive both an online code that can be used only once plus a 10 percent completion discount that you can use multiple times in stores for the next six months. Even better, you get the discount on any items you add to the registry within six months.

Give Yourself Some Credit

Apply for a Pottery Barn Kids' credit card and earn a $25 reward certificate for every $250 you spend. The credit card has no annual fee and works at Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Teen, too. In addition to the everyday 10 percent reward, twice a year PBK offers a "double rewards" weekend when you earn 20 percent back when you pay with your credit card.

The rewards certificates are valid for six months and can be used at Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, Pottery Barn and their outlets, but are not accepted at West Elm or Williams-Sonoma.

FabuLESS tip: Use your credit card to pay for the items on your registry, so you can "double dip" and get both the 10 percent discount from the completion discount plus earn 10 percent back on your purchases.
