Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- (2) 1 1/4 inch thick Tenderloin Steaks
- 4 oz. Traditonal Feta Cheese
- Red Wine
- 1 Teaspoon Minced Garlic
- Real Butter
- Lime Juice
- 11/2 Cups of Sliced Mushrooms
- Fork, Plate, & maybe a Knife...
Step1
Preheat your over to 375
Step2
In a frying pan with butter brown the garlic and set it aside.
Step3
Turn your burner up to med-hi & brown either side of each Steak in the same pan. Your not trying to cook your steak yet, just seal them before baking. This traps in moisture, preventing your steak from becoming tough & chewy-yuck!
Step4
After browning the steaks butter both sides like a peace of bread & put them in the oven on a cookie sheet to bake for 25min(med-rare)
Step5
While your steaks are baking you can finish the sauce! Using the same pan Sauté your mushrooms for about a minute then set aside.
Step6
Then add the Garlic back to the pan along with 1/2 teaspoon of lime juice the feta and 1/2 cup of wine. Let it warm up to the point where all the feta has melted, stir as needed. (NOTE) Feta doesn't smell the greatest while cooking but it sure tastes good!! You can add more wine if the sauce is too thick
Step7
Finally, once your steaks are done baking, place them on a plate cover it with some sautéd mushrooms them cover it all with the sauce ... enjoy!
