Things You'll Need:
- 1 lb. raw shelled almonds
- Cookie sheet or shallow baking pan
- Aluminum foil
- Vegetable oil
- Salt
-
Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Cover cookie sheet or baking pan with aluminum foil.
-
Step 2
Spread raw almonds over foil in a single layer. Coat nuts with vegetable oil by hand or with a brush and rearrange in a single layer.
-
Step 3
Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes. When timer rings, remove pan from oven and carefully pull corners of foil into a pouch and place on cool surface of stove or counter top. This helps prevent nuts from getting burned by the pan.
-
Step 4
Salt or season as desired, allow to cool about 10 minutes and store in a glass or porcelain crock.

on 4/14/2009 I TRIED YOUR RECIPE FOR ROASTED ALMONDS. AWESOME. THEY ARE JUST AS GOOD AS IN THE STORES AND ALOT MORE REASONABLE. GO TO SAMS AND GET A BIG BAG AND DO YOUR OWN. JUST WATCH THE AMOUNT OF OIL. I HAD A QT. BAG FULL OF ALMONDS AND ADDED 3-4 TABLESPOONS OF OIL. WAY TOO MUCH. HAD TO BLOT BEFORE THEY WENT IN OVEN AND AFTER. ADDED SALT AND LET THEM COOL AND PERFECT. THEY MUST COOL COMPLETELY TO BE CRUNCHY. GLAD TO HAVE THIS RECIPE. THANKS

on 2/21/2009 Before spreading the almonds on the foil, put them in a plastic bag, add the oil (and maybe some tamari soy sauce, if you want), then shake the bag until the almonds are coated, then pour them out on the foil and spread them into a single layer. After baking, we sprinkle on some seasoning salt and munch away

Tried eatin um with the plastic teeth. . .raw almonds a harder than the dickens. Roastin um makes um crunch up easier. It's the pits gettin old, gotta make all these changes. Cheers

on 2/7/2008 Works very well. I needed them for a cookie recipe. I live in a small town and couldn't find roasted almonds anywhere. They were fantastic.
