How to Roast Pecans
Pecans have made their presence known in cookies, pies and on salads. Still, roasting pecans is arguably one of the best ways to prepare them. The process of roasting (sometimes referred to as toasting) is simple and quick. But as simple as it may be, it is said to bring out the natural complexities and deliciousness of the nuts. Roasting your own pecans is not only a fun and easy activity, but it is also considerably cheaper than purchasing them from a store. Does this Spark an idea?

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Put 1 tbsp. of butter into a bowl, and then melt it in a microwave.

Coat a baking sheet in a thin layer of cooking spray.

Toss the pecans in the bowl of butter until they are all coated relatively evenly. Spread them out on the baking sheet when you are done.

Insert the baking sheet into the oven for five to seven minutes, or until you can smell the pecans cooking. Keep a close eye on them, as they can be easily burned.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven, and let the pecans cool completely before eating them.

Tips & Warnings
To coat pecans with oil by hand, pour about a teaspoon of oil into one hand, grab a handful of nuts with the other hand, and roll around with both hands. Repeat until all nuts are lightly coated with oil.
