Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cinder blocks (2 per shelf)
  • Recommend 10 Boards
  • Recommend utility shelving 1x12x8
  1. Step 1

Go to your local hardware store to get the cinder blocks and boards. There are a variety of different kinds of boards you can choose from, Pine, Oak, MDF, or utility shelving. Utility shelving is specifically made for shelving and inexpensive: approximately nine dollars per board. The cinder block is approximately two dollars per block.

  2. Step 2

Clear the area you would like to set your shelves up at.

  3. Step 3

Place two cinder blocks at the bottom, one on the left, one on the right. If you got the eight foot board, place the cinder blocks approximately four inches in from the end of the board.

  4. Step 4

Place the board on top of the cinder block.

  5. Step 5

Place two more cinder blocks on top of the shelf board in the same spot as the previous ones, starting a stacking effect.

  6. Step 6

Repeat placing the board and cinder blocks until you have reached the number of shelves you would like.

  7. Step 7

Place the items you wish to display or house onto the shelves.
