Things You'll Need:
- Needle and thread
- Sewing machine (optional)
- Bunch of old Socks
- Scissors
- Sheet Stuffing
-
Step 1
Gather a bunch of old socks. If you do not have enough of your own, you can locate some from the second hand clothing stores in your area, most of the time at a very low cost, or ask around from your friends or neighbors for socks they are throwing out.
-
Step 2
If it is a long sock, cut the top part off right at the bottom of the ankle, then cut it down one side to make it into a square. Then take the bottom, cut off the toe and ankle part. Then cut down one side to make it a square as well.
-
Step 3
Line up your squares to match up which colors and patterns you want by each other.
-
Step 4
Begin to sew the squares together just like a quilt, leave the hem lines on the inside. Complete two matching size squares, one front, one back for the blanket.
-
Step 5
Use the remaining sock square to make an edging. First sew them together to make a long line for each side of the blanket. Then line them up with the edges and pin them to the blanket with the edges folded in. Then sew them into place. Sew a diagonal line for the corners.
-
Step 6
To keep the stuffing in place, sew in the ditch in either horizontal or vertical lines.
