There are probably a plethora of reasons why you would not want just anyone to know where you have been on the web. I am not here to ask. I am here to help you out in keeping your web history your own personal business. Right now anyone could get on your Internet, go to the view menu and see anything you have searched for. Let's learn how to keep your life private.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer

Step1
Open the internet on your computer.
Step2
Go to the View Menu and scroll down to Explorer Bar. There a mini-menu will pop up. If you choose History, a list will appear on the left side of your screen with all the websites you have visited within the last few weeks.
Step3
Sometimes under the Tools menu you can simply select 'delete browsing history.' If this option is not available on your system, go to the Tools Menu and select Internet Options at the bottom.
Step4
Under the general tab in Internet Options you will see a button for deleting your history which includes sites you have surfed, cookies and passwords.
Step5
You will want to do this from time to time as this process will only delete your past searches, not keep future ones from showing up.

Tips & Warnings

  • By following these steps, you will not be able to erase your history from your hard drive, which would take quite a bit of work to accomplish.
